Sponsored by the Standard-Examiner’s Newspapers in Education program, Apple for the Teacher gives students, administrators and parents the opportunity to nominate and recognize teachers that have made a difference in their lives.
Each year, the Standard-Examiner asks area students and parents to nominate a teacher that has made a significant impact or contribution to students, schools, or the community. Thousands of nominations are submitted, and teachers are recognized at the Apple for the Teacher Awards Ceremony in April. All nominees will also be listed in Apple for the Teacher special section in April. The nominations are read and teachers and students share their experiences and life changing moments. Each child has a special story to share: They include touching, poignant, funny and endearing stories.
Over 300 area educators, families and students attend this annual event. Teachers receive a special gift and are recognized in an Apple for the Teacher publication. Design-An-Ad and Arts & Humanities contest winners will also be recognized at the Apple for the Teacher Awards Ceremony.
To Nominate a Teacher:
Complete the nomination form. Tell a personal story about a specific instance when your teacher went above and beyond for you. Share the positive impact your teacher had in your life and in the lives of others.
Thank you for participating. All entries have been received. Apple for the Teacher will be April 14, 2016 at the Spencer Fox Auditorium at Ogden High School from 6:30 to 8:30.
All nominees will be listed in Apple for the Teacher special section. In addition, 10 teachers will be selected from among the student nominations to be spotlighted in the section. Selection will be based solely on the information provided by the nominee, so be sure to make your entry memorable and compelling.
All teachers that are nominated will receive a certificate of award at a special awards ceremony. Apple for the Teacher recipients and the nominating students will be recognized at the event. Design-An-Ad and Arts & Humanities winners will also be recognized at the event.
